| Douglas Park Softball diamond #3 | Thu, Apr. 30, 2026 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM | Please bring running shoes. Full gear isn't required for this one, but please bring your bats, helmets, gloves and a hoodie. They can't jog in cleats. When: Thursday April 30, 6:00PM Where: Douglas Park softball diamonds right across from the hill. Who: All players! I would like everybody to come and take part. If the diamonds are too soft we'll just use the grass beside the diamonds. Please bring running shoes. We will be going for a run. I will stay with the back of the pack. My son and perhaps some others will lead the group who can maintain a pace. it should be between +5C and +10C that evening so please wear sweatpants. If the weather changes to be above +10C they could wear shorts for the jog, but sweatpants will be fine. And they will need either their baseball pants or sweatpants afterwards. Bring a thin hoodie to jog in if needed. Bring non-diet Gatorade! Also DO NOT EAT after 2:00pm. Have players eat a snack either at 2pm or no later than 3:30pm. Eating anything big after 2pm will result in stomach cramping. Have water, and water up to 5:30 is ok. Do not drink loads of water beforehand! Stomach cramping will ensue otherwise. After the jog we will be sitting down and having a snack. Please pack a sandwich or something to eat after (Bucket of chicken? What do wolves eat? ??) They will be hungry. We will be talking for about 20minutes and getting to know each other. After that we will do some fielding / popups / batting perhaps. Just some light practice, so I can see where everyone's at. We will have a short parents meeting at 7:30PM. Please come to the meeting. I mostly want to introduce the other coaches and other parents who will be helping out this season. I would like a coach or two to stick around and watch everyone's gear while we go on our run. And help afterwards with some practice. Which coaches are available? |
